A 7-day safari is the best way to experience Tanzania's premier national parks and the incredible wildlife they offer. This itinerary is designed to suit the needs of our clients by visiting major national parks and experiencing some world wonders. Visiting Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater provides an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience over 7 days.

Itinerary

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Main Destination: Tarangire National Park

Driving time to the park: 4 hours

Time in the park: 8 hours

Meal: Full board accommodation

Leave your hotel at 06:00 am and transfer to Tarangire National Park via Arusha. The drive takes approximately 4 hours to reach the park gate. You’ll spend around 7 hours within the park, renowned for its large elephant population and giant baobab trees. Other animals like giraffes, antelopes, lions, and cheetahs can also be spotted. At 05:00 pm, you’ll leave the park and head to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park (North)

Driving time to the park: 3 hours

Time in the park: 6-8 hours

Accommodation: Camping/Mid-range/Luxury lodge

Meals: Full board accommodation

After breakfast, depart around 7:00 am and drive to Serengeti North, arriving around 10:00 am for a game drive in Northern Mara. The Serengeti is famous for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras. Witness the dramatic river crossings as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produce over 8,000 calves daily before their 1,000 km (600-mile) migration begins again.

Day 3: Serengeti North (Kogatende)

After breakfast, depart for a game drive in Serengeti North to witness the great migration. River crossings at Kogatende start in August, with game viewing at its best between August and October. Watch as herds cross the Mara River, following the rains and fresh grasses.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Central Seronera)

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti Central, Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park. The Serengeti is known for its annual migration, but it also offers amazing game-viewing year-round, including herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park (Central Seronera)

Enjoy a full day game drive in Central Serengeti. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including colorful agama lizards, rock hyraxes, dung beetles, and over 500 bird species.

Day 6: Walking Tour - Empakaai Crater

Walking hours: 4-5 hours

A trek in the Empakaai Crater offers an amazing safari experience for adventurous trekkers. The crater is a collapsed volcanic caldera with a deep alkaline lake occupying about 75% of its floor. From the crater's rim, you can see Oldoinyo Lengai, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the Great Rift Valley. Wildlife includes bearded vultures, augur buzzards, blue monkeys, bushbucks, waterbucks, and buffaloes. Park rangers and a tour guide accompany the tour.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Driving time to the park: 45 minutes

Time in the park: 7 hours

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

After breakfast, head to Ngorongoro for a morning game drive inside the Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern Rift Valley, with the Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. The NCA conserves wildlife and natural resources while safeguarding the interests of indigenous people and promoting tourism. After exploring, check out the permit and begin your journey back to Moshi, Arusha, or the airport.
