7 Days Migration Safari

Safari Overview

The Great Migration is the largest animal movement on the planet. With up to 1,000 animals per km², the massive columns of wildebeest are visible from space. Over 1.2 million wildebeest, 300,000 zebras, and countless topi and other gazelles move through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of grass and water. Guided by survival instincts, each wildebeest covers 800 to 1,000 km on age-old migration routes. Predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, and crocodiles ensure only the strongest survive this natural spectacle, also known as 'the greatest show on Earth.'

The migration circuit starts from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (though not inside the Crater) in southern Serengeti, Tanzania, moves through the Serengeti, crosses into the Masai Mara in Kenya, and returns. The journey is fraught with danger: young calves are taken by predators, the slow fall prey to lion pride, brave beasts break legs on steep river slopes, crocodiles claim their share, and the weak and exhausted drown.
