Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide and prepare for your trek.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

Distance: 7 km

Duration: 3-4 hours

Highlights: Rainforest trekking, wildlife sightings (elephants, giraffes, buffaloes)

Start trekking through the lush rainforest, encountering diverse wildlife and stunning scenery.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,600m)

Distance: 8 km

Duration: 5 hours

Highlights: Transition from rainforest to moorland, panoramic views

Ascend through the rainforest and into the moorland zone, enjoying breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp (3,600m) to Shira 2 Camp (3,900m)

Distance: 10 km

Duration: 3 hours

Highlights: Relaxing day on the Shira Plateau

Enjoy the stunning scenery and spend a relatively easy day acclimatizing on the Shira Plateau.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp (3,900m) to Moir Hut (4,200m)

Distance: 4 km

Duration: 2 hours

Highlights: Gradual ascent, stunning views of the Shira Plateau

Begin your ascent towards the Northern Circuit route, passing through the moorland zone to Moir Hut.

Day 6: Moir Hut (4,200m) to Pofu Camp (4,000m)

Distance: 10 km

Duration: 5-7 hours

Highlights: Alpine desert, stunning views of Kenya's wild lands

Trek through the alpine desert, enjoying panoramic views of Kenya's wild lands.

Day 7: Pofu Camp (4,000m) to Rongai Third Cave Camp (3,800m)

Distance: 7 km

Duration: 4-5 hours

Highlights: Alpine desert trekking, stunning mountain vistas

Continue your trek through the alpine desert, enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 8: Rongai Third Cave Camp (3,800m) to School Hut (4,800m)

Distance: 7 km

Duration: 4-5 hours

Highlights: Steep ascent, stunning views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks

Ascend the steep slopes to School Hut, preparing for the summit attempt.

Day 9: School Hut (4,800m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Crater Camp (5,790m)

Distance: 8 km

Duration: 6-8 hours

Highlights: Summiting Kilimanjaro, stunning views of the crater and glaciers

Wake up before dawn to summit Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend to Crater Camp for a unique overnight experience.

Day 10: Crater Camp (5,790m) to Millennium Camp (3,950m) to Mweka Gate (1,630m)

Distance: 23 km

Duration: 8-10 hours

Highlights: Descending through diverse ecosystems

Descend from Crater Camp to Millennium Camp, and then continue your descent through the moorland and rainforest to Mweka Gate.
